Choose by Garden and Kitchen Goals

Hardneck garlic generally benefits from winter chill and produces scapes. Softneck garlic often suits milder winters and can be braided after curing. Elephant garlic has mild garlic-onion flavor, while shallots offer a mild savory allium profile.

Traits and harvest timing vary by variety and conditions. Use the Garlic Selector Tool, visit the Garlic Resource Center, or shop Garlic Growing Essentials.
